The Days / other unusual tracks

Anyone ever hear this track? Bonus track on the Japanese Import for Burning the Daze? Strange that I would have missed this song... What about other odd cuts on released singles (import or otherwise) that did not make full length albums? Am I missing some other MC songs?

Hi MJ
The Days also featured on the UK CD single of Already Home. Did you know the song was written for the soundtrack of the film The Cure but was not used over the closing credits? Instead, the makers decided to use Marc's other unreleased tune My Great Escape.
There are a substantial number of non album tracks out there. Off the cuff there is...

Faraway Nearby
Blow on Chillywind
One thing of beauty
Old Soldier
Angelsong
Nowhere fast
The Calling (original version)

Check out ebay for some bargains, as well as YouTube channel Stepsofthemuseum for examples of these tunes. They are great tracks.

Finally of course, you mention the Japanese CD release of Burning the Daze - this also includes ANOTHER unreleased Cohn tune only available on the Japanese release, "Burning Bed".

Thanks for stopping by.

This is a good starting list of those oddities! I knew that MC had recorded for The Cure but did not know that the original song was rejected. Keep 'em coming if anyone has others!

And of course there are all Marc's tunes from his Coffee Break Concert from 1977 which I won't list here.

Problem with getting hold of these tracks is that Marc has suggested releasing an album of B-sides. A lot of these are available commercially (Ebay is a good source for the CD singles - I have spent a small fortune over the years in amassing the collection but it has been worth it.

Turn on your radio is on Marc's 3rd cd Burning the daze.
Three steps down is only a live version, but Roseanne Cash has a great version (produced by John Leventhal) on her cd Rules of travel.
It, and Emily are both featured on episodes of Mind of a Married Man.
Into the mystic, Street of Windows and She's made of yesterdays are all live versions, but of course into the mystic will be on the new cd.
Girl from the north country is not available to buy as far as I am aware but I do appear to have a studio version!
Sheltering tower is actually called Rock of Ages (Maoz Tzur) and is on a cd called Festival of Light.
Hope that helps!
